The making of...

"Tom Jobim"

As a base for this work I used a picture from Tom Jobim, black and white, found in the net (I do not know the author). I worked on the picture choosing the bottom gray and merging this color with the similar parts of the main image. I worked the resultant selection with some plugins, in special the Paint Engine one to improve the image texture and volume, also using the Filter Attacks for the finishing of the picture square borders. In the second phase, I used a canvas with bigger dimensions than the picture, and paste over the image a tree bulky frond - I withdrew the original, green color from the frond, and I worked that volume using continued times the Sharpen, Emboss and Shadow effects. In a separate layer I made curves with the tool Draw, freehand, and simply I went editing those lines on Geometric Effects/ Twirl, just to soften its contours and create a standard. (I set up those lines on another layer with a darkest gray color to prepare the web page background). I worked this drawn with volume and throw the result in the layer with the frond, gently merging them. I set up the image with all of those elements, always verifying the exact layers position and the perfect rank of viewing of each one. Finally, the signature.
